Join our dynamic team as a Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu – Assistant Coach, where your energy and passion for martial arts will inspire young learners to develop confidence, discipline, and physical skills. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work with children in a vibrant, supportive environment dedicated to fostering growth through martial arts training. As an assistant coach, you will help deliver engaging BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) classes tailored for kids, ensuring a safe, fun, and educational experience for all students.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead instructors in delivering structured Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes designed specifically for children
- Support child development by encouraging positive behavior and promoting teamwork during training sessions
- Help demonstrate techniques and drills clearly, ensuring proper form and safety at all times
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment by monitoring student conduct and managing class behavior effectively
- Engage with students to motivate participation and build confidence through personalized encouragement
- Assist with setting up equipment, cleaning mats, and preparing class materials before and after sessions
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and class updates
Requirements
- Minimum rank – Blue Belt (2+ years of training)
- Prior experience in sports coaching, martial arts, or teaching physical education to children
- Safe Sports, CPR & Background check.
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques suitable for working with young students
- Passion for working with children and fostering their interest in martial arts and physical activity
- Excellent communication skills to effectively teach, motivate, and engage young learners
- Experience in childcare or working within health clubs or gyms is advantageous
