Duties
- Lead kickboxing classes tailored to various skill levels, emphasizing proper technique, safety, and motivation
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate fitness fundamentals such as jabs, kicks, combinations, and defensive moves
- Monitor participants’ progress and provide personalized feedback to encourage improvement and confidence
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during classes, including proper use of equipment and behavior management
- Adapt training sessions for different age groups, including children’s classes or adult fitness programs
- Collaborate with other fitness staff to coordinate class schedules and special events like tournaments or workshops
- Maintain a clean and organized training area, ensuring all equipment is in good condition
Skills
- Proven experience in fitness instructing, group training experience or sports coaching background is advantageous
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to motivate diverse groups of students of all ages
- Knowledge of physical education principles and experience working with children or students in a gym or health club setting
- Excellent behavior management skills to maintain a positive class environment
- Familiarity with swimming, climbing, cheerleading, basketball or other sports enhances versatility in coaching various physical activities
- Ability to demonstrate proper technique while ensuring participant safety at all times
- Effective communication skills to instruct clearly and provide constructive feedback
