Summary
The Key Account Manager, Strategic Accounts is responsible for driving sales growth with our largest and most strategic partnerships. The role includes business development with existing key accounts, expanding strategic partnerships, forecasting, line planning, product assortment strategy, account reviews, and cross-functional leadership to ensure successful execution of customer initiatives and partnership agreements. This position serves as the primary business lead for assigned strategic accounts and requires strong leadership through influence, collaboration, and project management rather than direct people management.
Responsibilities
Account Strategy & Business Planning
- Develop seasonal strategies to maximize sales, profitability, and long-term growth for each strategic account.
- Develop and maintain seasonal line plans with strategic partners, including category, style, unit, and revenue forecasting.
- Partner with customers and internal teams to build annual business plans that align product
- assortments, launch calendars, inventory needs, and revenue targets.
- Create and manage rolling forecasts by account, product category, and key initiative to support inventory planning and financial objectives.
Partnership Management
- Develop strong, effective relationships with customers, franchise partners, licensors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage strategic partnership, licensing, and co-branded program timelines to ensure contractual commitments, deliverables, and launch milestones are executed successfully.
- Schedule, organize, and lead regular strategic account meetings to review performance, present initiatives, establish seasonal buys, and align on future growth opportunities.
- Serve as the primary business lead for assigned strategic partnerships and key accounts.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure contractual obligations, partnership agreements, and key initiatives are executed successfully and on schedule.
Product & Merchandising
- Build, curate, and manage seasonal assortments that support customer objectives and revenue goals.
- Liaison with Design and Product Development to support seasonal launches, co-branded programs, SMU opportunities, and exclusive product initiatives.
- Pitch special product programs, exclusive collections, packs, and promotional initiatives to drive incremental revenue.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as the primary cross-functional lead for strategic partnerships, coordinating Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Operations, Finance, Customer Experience, and Supply Chain teams.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and resource needs to ensure successful execution of strategic account initiatives.
- Maintain a detailed calendar of product launches, marketing activations, partnership milestones, and key customer initiatives.
Business Performance
- Meet and exceed assigned account revenue and profitability goals.
- Monitor and report sell-through, inventory performance, and other key performance indicators.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory levels through strategic selling and promotion of distressed inventory.
- Monitor emerging market trends, customer needs, and partnership opportunities to drive growth.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing accounts within apparel, accessories, footwear, sporting goods, or related consumer products industries.
- Experience with use of CRM, ERP and B2B systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Experience building forecasts, line plans, sales analyses, and business reviews preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 30-40%.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Experience managing large strategic accounts and developing long-term customer growth plans.
- Proven track record of delivering sales results through creative selling, business development, and strategic account management.
- Product development, SMU, assortment planning, and merchandising experience preferred.
- Experience developing line plans, seasonal assortments, and account-level forecasting.
- Knowledge of boutique fitness channels including Barre, Pilates, Yoga, Cycle, HIIT, Functional
- Fitness, and related categories.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to influence at all levels of an organization and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated understanding of retail math, forecasting, inventory planning, and sales analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to build and grow strategic business partnerships.
- Ability to effectively present business strategies, account plans, and product concepts to both
- internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead initiatives and drive accountability without direct reporting authority.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Effective time management, planning, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, including forecasting, data analysis, reporting, pivot tables, lookups, and business planning.
- Experience working with licensing, co-branded, or strategic partnership programs preferred.
- Experience with off-price, closeout, liquidation, or inventory optimization channels is a plus.
- Ability to travel as required to build relationships and meet the needs of strategic partners and key accounts.

This role has a targeted salary range that varies based on geographic location to reflect local market conditions, cost of living, and applicable pay equity laws. The anticipated base annual salary range for this position is $95,000 to $110,000, depending on the candidate’s primary work location.
This role is also eligible for an annual target bonus of $22,000, with the opportunity to earn more through performance-based accelerators. Final compensation will be determined based on location, relevant experience, skills, and internal equity.
