Key Account Manager – Retail and Consumer Products Jobs in Sanford at Skyline USA, Inc.
Guard Dog Security is a fast-growing personal safety brand built on innovation and a product line that spans pepper sprays, stun guns, personal alarms, bulletproof backpacks, and more. Our products sit on thousands of retail doors including alongside a strong DTC and Amazon business. We’re entering our next phase of growth, and we’re hiring a Key Account Manager to lead it at the account level.
About the role
This is a senior, relationship-driven sales role for someone who already knows the retail and consumer products world from the inside. You will own a portfolio of strategic and key accounts end to end: setting the account strategy, leading line reviews and buyer conversations, and directing the brokers, distributors, and field reps who support those accounts. You won’t be learning the sales process here. You’ll be running it.
We’re prioritizing candidates who are already in the Central Florida market and can work on-site at our Sanford headquarters. Equally important, we’re looking for someone who brings an established network of retail buyers, broker partners, distributor contacts, and sales agencies they can put to work immediately.
What you’ll own
- Full ownership of strategic and key accounts, from prospecting and pitch through line reviews, POs, replenishment, and ongoing account growthDirect management of the broker, distributor, and field rep network supporting your accounts, holding partners accountable to revenue and merchandising goals
- The complete sales funnel for your book, including forecasting, pipeline management, and accurate revenue reporting
- New strategic account acquisition, leveraging your existing buyer and category relationships to open doors faster
- Cross-functional coordination with operations, marketing, and design to make sure programs land on shelf cleanly and orders ship on time and in compliance
- Representation of Guard Dog at trade shows, buyer meetings, and category reviews
What you bring
- 5+ years of key account or national account sales experience in consumer products, ideally sold through mass, automotive, sporting goods, convenience, or specialty retail
- An established network of contacts at retail accounts, plus working relationships with brokers, distributors, and rep agencies that you can activate quickly
- A track record of growing accounts and hitting revenue targets in a retail environment, not just managing them
- Working knowledge of how big-box and key accounts operate: line reviews, planograms, retail math, MAP, and the basics of retail compliance (EDI, ASNs, OTIF)
- Strong command of CRM and reporting tools (HubSpot a plus) and comfort working in Excel and Google Sheets to manage a pipeline and forecast
- Based in Central Florida and able to work on-site in Sanford; willing to travel for accounts and shows
Nice to have
- Existing relationships within our current retailer base or similar
- Experience in promoting product lines for a female consumer and key accounts that cater to and offer female fashion accessories,
- Familiarity with Retail Link or comparable retailer portals
