Description
Job Summary: Provide quality Pickleball instruction for participants across age groups, abilities and skill levels. Work days and hours vary to meet program needs, including evening and weekend shifts. This is a part‑time position (less than 20 hours per week). Salary ranges:
Instructor I: $15.16–$18.51 per hour;
Instructor II: $15.76–$21.27 per hour.
Instructor I:
- Properly instruct registered participants.
- Develop, oversee and implement lesson plans and participate in required training.
- Inspect program environment and equipment to ensure safety, handle emergencies according to established procedures.
- Complete administrative tasks such as skill assessment of participants, attendance sheets, class evaluations and class descriptions for brochures.
- Provide make‑up sessions as required.

Job Functions:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Instructor II:
- High school graduate or GED required.
- Coursework in recreation, education, therapeutic recreation or related field preferred.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- One year experience coaching/teaching Pickleball required.
- Extensive prior participation and sound knowledge of the activity required.
Education (Instructor I):
- Some coursework in recreation, education, therapeutic recreation or related field preferred.
Experience (Instructor I):
- Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
- Previous Pickleball experience, extensive prior participation and sound knowledge of the activity required.
- Previous experience as an assistant instructor preferred.
Certifications (All Levels):
- Must obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within 60 days of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient knowledge of Pickleball.
- Work effectively and diplomatically with a diverse group of people.
- Handle difficult situations with participants with patience, good judgment, and diplomacy.
- Demonstrate competent organizational and planning skills.
Physical Demands and
Working Conditions:
- Frequent light to moderate physical effort that includes frequent standing or walking or maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks. Frequently work with light objects and light hand tools.
- Occasional exposure to predictable hazards that are well protected against.
