Indian River County is seeking enthusiastic and certified Lifeguards, Swim Instruction (SWI) Instructors, and Water Aerobics Instructors to join our vibrant aquatic team! Duties
- Vigilantly monitor pool areas to ensure the safety of all swimmers and participants, responding swiftly to emergencies with professionalism and confidence.
- Enforce all pool rules and safety regulations to prevent accidents and promote a secure environment.
- Lead engaging water aerobics classes that motivate participants of all skill levels to achieve their fitness goals.
- Provide swim instruction tailored to individual skill levels, helping beginners gain confidence and advanced swimmers improve technique.
- Assist guests with pool access, answer questions about facilities or programs, and deliver outstanding guest services that foster a welcoming atmosphere.
- Perform routine pool inspections including checking equipment, ensuring proper signage is displayed, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
Requirements
- Current Valid certification as a Lifeguard &/or SWI &/or Aerobics Instructor with current First Aid and CPR certifications from recognized organizations.
- Experience working as a lifeguard or in aquatic supervision is preferred; previous swim instruction or water aerobics teaching experience is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for pool equipment
- Strong swimming skills with the ability to perform rescue techniques confidently in emergency situations.
- Excellent guest service skills with a positive attitude and clear communication abilities.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform physical tasks such as swimming or lifting equipment, and work flexible hours including weekends or evenings if required. We have positions available throughout Indian River County – Gifford and Sebastian- flexible scheduling- you pick your schedule 4 hrs shifts (allowed to work up to 2 a day) Sunday-Saturday shifts available- this is a year around position for candidates with open weekday schedules.
