St. Benedict’s Prep seeks an energetic, dedicated, full-time high school French teacher to begin in late July. The ideal candidate will teach levels 1-4. The successful candidate teaches in a manner that will help our students succeed as learners, gain necessary post-graduation skills, and grow in college readiness. World language teachers will need to instruct students in fundamental grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure; work on developing students’ conversational speaking skills; build reading comprehension on increasingly complex texts; expose students to cultures related to the world language being taught; differentiate instruction; use technology to aid in student learning; and establish classroom routines that create a structured and productive learning environment.
Faculty members are also expected to participate in another facet of school life, whether as a coach or activity moderator. We have needs in many extracurricular and co-curricular areas, in several sports as well as in non-athletic activities, in both the Boys and Girls Prep Divisions.
St. Benedict’s Prep is a 158-year-old Catholic school with a rigorous academic program. The 950 students (co-ed K-6, co-ed 7-8, all-boys 9-12, and all-girls 9-12) and 90 faculty members work together to build a community whose members are responsible to one another for developing character and talent.
