Our students explore careers in sports medicine, athletic training, exercise science, fitness, and related healthcare fields. We are looking for someone who is passionate about sharing their expertise and helping students discover and prepare for rewarding careers.
What You’ll Do
- Teach courses in Exercise & Athletic Training, Exercise Psychology, Fitness Evaluation, and specialty capstone experiences
- Create engaging, hands-on learning opportunities that connect classroom concepts to industry practice
- Mentor and support students as they explore health science and exercise science careers
- Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to provide authentic learning experiences
- Support student participation in HOSA – Future Health Professionals
Who Should Apply?
We welcome applications from both experienced educators and industry professionals.
Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:
- Hold a current Ohio State Board of Education Career-Technical license in Fitness Aide (070410); OR
- Have at least three years of verifiable experience in sports medicine, exercise science, athletic training, fitness, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, wellness, or a related healthcare field and be willing to complete Ohio’s alternative educator licensure process.
No prior teaching experience is required. Butler Tech provides support and guidance for qualified industry professionals transitioning into education.
Preferred Qualifications
- College coursework in exercise science, sports medicine, athletic training, kinesiology, physiology, or related fields
- Current Ohio athletic trainer certification
- Board of Certification (BOC) credential
- Experience coaching, training, mentoring, supervising, or developing others
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Comfort using technology to support teaching and learning
