Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training programs that enhance the skills and performance of student-athletes.
- Organize and conduct daily practices, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
- Prepare the wrestling team for competitions, including scheduling matches and tournaments.
- Monitor and evaluate athletes’ performance, providing constructive feedback and mentorship.
- Collaborate with other coaches and athletic staff to promote a cohesive sports program.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and expectations.
- Foster a culture of respect, discipline, and hard work among team members.
- Ensure compliance with all school and athletic association regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of athlete participation, performance, and academic eligibility.
- Assist in fundraising and community outreach efforts to support the wrestling program.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience in wrestling at the high school level or higher preferred.
- Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with athletes, parents, and staff.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their personal and team goals.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Must pass a background check and comply with school district policies.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate practice and competition times, including evenings and weekends.
