Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach

Job Description

• Plan, organize and conduct practices, games, meetings and team functions within the parameters of IHSAA, Mid-Hoosier Conference and Flat Rock-Hawcreek

Corporation guidelines.

• Project a positive and professional manner during practices and games, as well as within the Hope Community.
• Communicate effectively and frequently with the Athletic Director.
• Effectively communicate with media outlets by reporting scores, records and statistics in a timely manner.
• Foster academic, athletic and moral growth of student athletes.

Job Requirements

• Successful high school coaching experience preferred.
• All teaching licenses will be considered.
• Directly supervise all phases of the Boys Basketball Program.

Job Qualifications

• Indiana Teaching License Required
• Classroom teacher preferred but not required
• Varsity level head coaching experience preferred but not required
• Ability to oversee entire basketball program from Kindergarten through the varsity level
• Ability to implement off season program (i.e. strength and conditioning, skill development)
• Ability to implement feeder system to develop all players from Kindergarten through high school level
• Ability to develop lower level coaches
• Ability to work with all Hauser coaches to promote Hauser Athletics, not just Hauser basketball
• Ability to comply with expectations and procedures set forth by Hauser Jr./Sr. High School, Flatrock-Hawcreek School Corporation, The Mid Hoosier

Conference, and the IHSAA

• Ability to effectively plan practices to ensure player development
• Ability to hold student athletes to high standards and implement accountability system
• Ability to communicate and work with parents of student athletes
• Model sportsmanship, character, and morality for student athletes
