Since our establishment in 2007, Major League Football Academy (MLFA) has grown from one primary-school-age football class to what it is today; a thriving and growing multi-sports academy with over 600 boys and girls playing team sports every week.
With the successful introduction of netball, touch rugby, and multi-sport programmes, we now operate as Major League Sports Academy (MLSA) – a progressive and ambitious academy committed to long-term athlete development and high-quality coaching provision across Hong Kong.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and enthusiastic Head of Football to join our full-time coaching team. This is a senior coaching role with responsibility for programme delivery, coach management, and player development across key age groups. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping our football pathway and supporting the continued growth of the academy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement comprehensive football training programmes for players of all ability levels
- Take overall ownership of the Boys Academy (U10-U12) and Boys and Girls Pathway (U13+) programmes
- Act as Head Coach for 2-3 age groups, delivering high-quality, engaging training sessions
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and pastoral support to players both on and off the pitch
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to support individual development
- Support and deliver after-school football programmes across international schools in Hong Kong
- Line-manage 2-3 coaches, ensuring consistency, collaboration, and high standards across all sessions
- Contribute to academy operations through administrative duties, including scheduling, email communication, and stakeholder liaison
- Work closely with the Managing Director to support business growth and promote MLSA’s values within the Hong Kong sports community
Candidate Requirements
- UEFA B Licence (or currently working towards completion)
- Proven experience coaching across multiple age groups and ability levels
- Strong communication, organisational, and administrative skills
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, including match days
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset with initiative, vision, and resilience
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a close-knit coaching environment
