Description
Newcastle ISD is seeking a motivated and student-centered professional to serve as the Head Girls Basketball Coach
. This position includes the opportunity to assist with or lead additional programs such as cross country and/or tennis
, depending on candidate experience and district needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a competitive Girls Basketball program (7–12)
- Promote student-athlete growth in character, academics, and athletics
- Organize and supervise practices, games, and offseason programs
- Coordinate with athletic director and administration on program needs
- Maintain compliance with all UIL rules and district policies
- Build positive relationships with athletes, parents, staff, and community
- Possible Head Coach (Cross Country and/or Tennis) as assigned
Teaching Field
- Open (Multiple certifications will be considered)
- Competitive salary based on experience and district scale
- $225 monthly contribution toward health insurance
Qualifications
- Valid Texas teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
- CDL (or willingness to obtain)
Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and program development - Previous coaching experience preferred (head or assistant)
- Ability to contribute to multiple athletic programs is a plus
