Position 1: Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach

Position Summary
Family Christian Center School (FCCS) is seeking an enthusiastic, Christ-centered, and experienced Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach to lead and develop our varsity girls basketball program. The Head Coach will be responsible for creating a positive team culture, developing student-athletes academically, athletically, and spiritually, and building a competitive program that reflects the mission and values of FCCS Athletics.
This is a stipend position. Compensation is based on coaching experience, qualifications, certifications, and overall program leadership experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Program Leadership
- Lead all aspects of the Varsity Girls Basketball Program.
- Establish a Christ-centered culture emphasizing character, leadership, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Create and implement a long-term vision for the growth of the program.
- Promote school spirit and represent FCCS Athletics positively within the community.
Coaching Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct practices, skill development sessions, and team workouts.
- Develop offensive and defensive systems appropriate for the team.
- Prepare athletes for competition through effective instruction and game preparation.
- Manage game-day operations and coaching decisions.
- Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback.
Student-Athlete Development
- Encourage academic excellence and personal growth.
- Mentor student-athletes both on and off the court.
- Foster leadership skills and positive team relationships.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, administration, and the Athletic Director.
- Maintain team rosters, attendance, and eligibility requirements.
- Assist with equipment, uniforms, scheduling, and program needs.
- Participate in athletic department meetings and events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous basketball coaching experience at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategy, and player development.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
- Commitment to Christian education and the mission of FCCS.
