This position requires a flexible, year-round work schedule that includes regular business hours (Monday through Friday) as well as frequent evening and weekend commitments to support practices, competitions, recruiting activities, team travel, fundraising events, and program operations. Extended and irregular hours are required during traditional and non-traditional seasons, recruitment periods, postseason competition, preseason preparation, and other peak operational times. Travel and overnight commitments are required. Occasional holiday availability may be necessary based on competitive schedules and institutional needs.

Job Description Summary
The Head Women’s Soccer Coach is responsible for the strategic leadership, competitive success, and operational management of a competitive NCAA Division III soccer program. The position is accountable for sustaining championship-level performance, recruiting and developing high-caliber student-athletes, and fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. The Head Coach is evaluated annually based on competitive outcomes, program leadership, recruitment effectiveness, student-athlete development, compliance, and operational execution.
Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of collegiate soccer coaching experience that includes soccer instruction, program administration, and recruiting.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams to conference championships, NCAA tournament participation, or equivalent national-level competition.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, operate, and sustain a highly competitive collegiate athletic program, while motivating and mentoring student-athletes to achieve peak individual and team performance.
- Working knowledge of comprehensive program administration, including budget management, team travel logistics and expenditures, inventory oversight (equipment, uniforms, training tools), practice and competition scheduling, fundraising strategies, academic progress monitoring, alumni relations, and compliance with NCAA, SCIAC, and University policies.
- Ability to stay current with and effectively integrate emerging coaching and performance technologies, including video analysis, data analytics, and sport-specific computing systems, into daily program operations and competitive preparation.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, personnel, and high-pressure situations in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive leadership and effective communication across diverse populations, including but not limited to race, gender, sexual identity, physical ability, socioeconomic background, and religious perspectives.
- Ability to travel extensively and work a flexible, nontraditional schedule, including evenings, weekends, and extended periods during recruitment and competitive seasons.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of student-athlete, personnel, and program records and information.
- Proficiency in personal computers and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and sport-specific platforms (e.g., Hudl, Spiideo, or equivalent performance and recruiting systems).
- Ability to accurately maintain professional records and documentation, both electronic and paper, using appropriate grammar, organization, and documentation standards

- Master’s degree.
- NCAA Division III coaching experience.
- NCAA head coaching experience.

- Foster the holistic development of student-athletes, balancing academic responsibilities with athletic commitments.

- Manage and oversee the soccer program’s annual budget, ensuring financial resources are allocated appropriately across coaching, facilities, equipment, recruitment, and travel.
- Collaborate with the athletic department’s administrative team to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines and institutional/departmental financial policies.
- Monitor expenditures to ensure the program stays within budget and works efficiently with available resources.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including donations, sponsorships, and fundraising events, to enhance the financial sustainability of the program.

COMPLIANCE and INSTITUTIONAL ALIGNMENT
- Ensure compliance with NCAA regulations, institutional policies, and ethical standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of recruitment guidelines, eligibility requirements, and other regulations relevant to the soccer program.
- Work closely with the athletic administration to align the soccer program’s goals with the broader mission and values of the institution.
- Abide by and comply with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and SCIAC rules, academic standards, requirements, and policies of the University, and all guidelines and policies of the Athletics department and reports any concerns of compromise or violation of rules, standards, guidelines or policies to the Director of Athletics, Deputy Director, or the Compliance & Student Services Manager.
