Group Fitness Instructor: Kick-boxing Jobs in Seattle at Community Fitness
Job Overview
Do you like to inspire and educate others to get fit and feel confident while having fun? Do you like working in a studio that cares about nurturing a welcoming and supportive community among instructors and clients? Do you enjoy an environment where you are respected for your expertise and allowed to be creative? Then come explore Community Fitness which is a 20-year local group fitness studio in the Roosevelt neighborhood where we don’t just build fitness – but we build confidence, connection and joy. Our instructors are the heart of our studio and we want them to share their passion and expertise with our wonderful community. Many of them have been with us for 10+ years because we offer a uniquely supportive, warm and respected environment. These elite instructors provide a diverse range of classes including dance fitness (hip hop, afro dancehall, urban latin and more), strength & conditioning, step, Bodypump, pilates, barre, yoga and stretch so people can explore and grow in different ways.
We are currently seeking a Group Fitness Instructor specializing in non-contact kick-boxing. One of our teachers taught a class and people are begging for more. So we either need someone who wants to share/sub a spot with our regular instructor on a weekend afternoon or weekday evening OR someone who can offer a regular weekly class during a weekday morning. We hope to find someone in June or July (2026) so you can start providing some pop-up classes by August and then start in September. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in kick-boxing and the confidence and charisma to motivate and inspire participants of different ages, bodies and abilities. This role involves designing and leading a kick-boxing class (no bags) that can leverage techniques from different training regimens (booty, turbo kick, other). We pay 1.5 hours per class starting at $50/class increasing with experience and performance.
Duties
- Develop and implement innovative group fitness programs (including music selection) that incorporate kick-boxing techniques.
- Provide instruction on proper body mechanics and anatomy to ensure participant safety and effectiveness during workouts.
- Monitor participants’ progress and provide feedback to help them achieve their fitness goals.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participation and builds connection within the community.
- Promote studio classes and programs to support the overall business.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and best practices to advance your skills and improve the class learning.
Requirements
- Certification in group fitness instruction or related field is required; additional certifications in personal training or specialized disciplines are a plus
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, body mechanics, and program design principles
- Ideally 5 (minimally 3) years of experience in teaching group classes with a focus on kick-boxing
- Ability to engage participants through effective communication skills and motivational techniques
- Familiarity with various fitness modalities is preferred
- Reliable in scheduling and clear communicator
- Eagerness to receive and incorporate feedback from others and continue developing
- Desire to improve people’s lives
If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you! And please do confirm your availability to work either weekend afternoons or weekday mornings. Hope to hear from you soon!
