Purpose and Scope of Position (Job Summary)
The Golf Professional is responsible for supporting the Head Golf Professional and Golf Operations team in delivering exceptional golf experiences and maintaining the highest standards of service at Yas Links Abu Dhabi. The role plays a key part in providing high-quality golf instruction, coaching junior and beginner golfers, supporting academy programs, assisting with tournaments and club events, and promoting the Club's products and services to members and guests.
Main Duties (Job-Related Responsibilities)
Operational Support
- Assist the Head Golf Professional in the day-to-day operation of the Golf Academy and Golf Operations.
- Maintain a strong operational knowledge of the Academy and Golf Operations to support the team when required.
- Work closely with all Club departments to ensure smooth operations and deliver an exceptional member and guest experience.
- Support and assist Golf Operations colleagues whenever required.
Golf Instruction & Academy Support
- Deliver high-quality golf instruction to members and guests of all abilities.
- Coach junior golfers, beginners, and academy participants in line with the Club's coaching standards.
- Support junior golf programs, school initiatives, holiday camps, clinics, and junior tournaments.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of coaching programs and academy activities.
- Maintain the highest standards of coaching and customer service at all times.
Member & Guest Service
- Deliver professional, friendly, and efficient service to all members and guests.
- Promote a welcoming and enjoyable golfing experience.
- Respond to member and guest enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Represent Yas Links Abu Dhabi with the highest standards of professionalism.
Events & Club Activities
- Assist with golf tournaments, corporate golf days, member events, academy events, and promotional activities.
- Support the successful delivery of Club competitions and special events.
- Represent the Club professionally during internal and external golfing events.
Retail & Sales
- Promote coaching programs, academy memberships, retail merchandise, and Club services.
- Support retail sales through the Golf Shop by recommending suitable products and services.
- Identify opportunities to increase coaching participation and retail revenue.
Qualifications & Skills
- PGA Qualified or equivalent Golf Professional qualification preferred.
- Previous experience delivering golf coaching and academy programs.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Passion for coaching golfers of all ages and abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and tournament days.
- Professional appearance with a positive and proactive attitude.
- Arabic speaking would be beneficial.
