General Manager Revolution Ice Centre, Pittston, PA
Revolution Ice Centre is seeking an exceptionally organized, people first General Manager to run our facility day to day. We want a strong manager in the mold of a great office manager: dependable, detail oriented, comfortable wearing many hats, and not afraid to learn new things. You should be excellent with people, able to develop new business, and able to keep the whole operation running smoothly.
This is not a desk role. The General Manager is visible and engaged throughout the building, leading staff and taking care of customers. Ice or sports facility experience is a plus, not a requirement. Nights and weekends are required.
Running the Operation
- Own daily operations and keep the facility organized, on schedule, and running smoothly
- Manage bookings, programs, and the calendar across public skating, learn to skate, hockey, camps, parties, rentals, and events
- Track the details others miss, from supplies to staffing to follow ups
- Coordinate contractors and vendors for maintenance and facility projects
Working with People
- Serve as the face of the facility with a strong presence during operating hours
- Handle customer concerns directly and hold high service standards
- Build retention and repeat business through genuine relationships and reliable follow up
- Develop new business with schools, youth organizations, teams, and local businesses, and improve ice utilization
Leading the Staff
- Hire, train, schedule, and manage a primarily seasonal, younger workforce
- Mentor young staff and set clear expectations for professionalism, accountability, and service
- Manage labor and scheduling efficiently
Marketing and Community
- Support marketing across social media, email, promotions, and community partnerships
- Help position Revolution Ice Centre as a top ice sports and entertainment destination in the region
Qualifications
Required
- Nights and weekends are required.
- Proven management experience, ideally running a busy operation
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail
- Strong people skills and customer service leadership
- Experience managing staff and schedules
- Eager to learn new systems and take on new responsibilities
Preferred
- Sports facility, fitness center, or entertainment venue experience
- Ice skating or hockey background
- Event planning or program development experience
