We are seeking a dynamic and passionate General Manager to lead our D-BAT Lawrence facility. The General Manager will oversee daily operations, drive exceptional training experiences, and foster a family-friendly, high-performance environment. This role is perfect for a motivated leader with a love for sports, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to building a community-focused culture. The ideal candidate will manage staff, engage with the local community, and ensure operational excellence while embodying D-BAT’s core values of integrity, teamwork, growth, and community involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee all facility operations, including scheduling, maintenance, and cleanliness, to ensure a safe, organized, and visually appealing environment for players and families.
- Team Management: Lead, recruit, and train a team of coaches, instructors, front-desk staff, and support personnel. Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture that minimizes turnover and maximizes engagement.
- Customer Experience: Ensure exceptional customer service for players, parents, and guests. Implement customer feedback surveys (electronic and paper) to maintain high instructional quality.
- Community Engagement: Build partnerships with local schools, sports leagues, and youth organizations to promote D-BAT as the premier choice for baseball and softball training. Participate in community events to strengthen brand presence.
- Program Oversight: Manage a variety of offerings, including private lessons, camps, clinics, cage rentals, and batting cage credits. Ensure training sessions are engaging, skill-focused, and tailored to diverse age groups and skill levels.
- Technology Integration: Train staff on D-BAT’s technology, including the D-BAT HUB app, video analysis tools, and rebooking processes, to enhance instructional quality and operational efficiency.
- Financial and Performance Goals: Work to meet revenue targets, manage budgets, and track facility usage.
- Facility Maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance protocols to ensure equipment and facilities meet safety and performance standards. Service machines and maintain a regular preventive maintenance program.
- Event Coordination: Plan and execute facility events, such as camps, clinics, and birthday parties, ensuring all necessary equipment and resources are secured.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of operations management experience, ideally in sports, recreation, hospitality, or retail (Preferred, not required).
- Strong understanding of the local baseball/softball community, including recreational, travel, and school programs.
- Excellent organizational, scheduling, and leadership skills to manage a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours.
- Proficiency with technology, including scheduling software, video analysis tools, and customer management systems.
- Passion for youth sports and creating an inclusive, welcoming environment that aligns with D-BAT Lawrence’s values.
- High character, coachable, and growth-oriented individual with strong relationship-building skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a leadership or management role within a sports or customer-focused environment.
- Ability to mentor instructors and improve instructional quality through feedback and training.
- Familiarity with baseball/softball equipment trends and maintenance practices.
