This executive leader serves as the CEO's operating partner, leading the daily execution of the business while helping scale the organization. The General Manager creates alignment across departments, develops leaders, drives operational excellence, and builds strategic partnerships that fuel long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the business across all departments.
- Translate company strategy into quarterly priorities and measurable objectives.
- Own and continuously evolve Rock World's operating model, balancing speed, creativity, profitability, and scalability.
- Own the company's commercial operating strategy by aligning Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Account Management, and Strategic Partnerships around common growth objectives.
- Build alignment across Creative, Production, Account Management, E-commerce, VP of A&R, and Finance.
- Hold department leaders accountable through KPIs, scorecards, and operating reviews.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement long-term solutions.
- Identify and pursue strategic partnerships that expand capabilities and revenue.
- Develop executive relationships with entertainment companies, licensing partners, retailers, manufacturers, technology providers, sports and consumer brands.
- Negotiate commercial partnerships and oversee successful implementation.
- Evaluate new service offerings, technologies, and growth initiatives that create competitive advantage.
- Partner with the CEO on transformational opportunities while independently driving growth partnerships.
- Develop and execute the company's long-term sales strategy across artist merchandise, touring, e-commerce, fulfillment, corporate merchandise, licensing, and strategic partnerships.
- Partner with the VP of A&R to expand key accounts and accelerate new business development.
- Evaluate market trends, competitive positioning, and emerging revenue channels.
- Build scalable go-to-market strategies for new products, services, and business initiatives.
- Establish revenue targets, pipeline expectations, and commercial KPIs.
- Drive collaboration between Sales, Marketing, Account Management, Product Development, and Creative.
- Identify opportunities to expand into new industries and markets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience, including executive-level experience leading multi-functional teams within merchandise, consumer products, entertainment, live events, e-commerce, retail, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Proven experience leading day-to-day business operations with full P&L responsibility and accountability for revenue growth, profitability, and organizational performance.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing commercial growth strategies across sales, account management, marketing, business development, and strategic partnerships.
- Experience scaling organizations through process improvement, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong background managing executive leaders and developing high-performing teams across multiple departments.
- Experience building strategic partnerships with brands, artists, entertainment companies, retailers, licensing partners, manufacturers, or other key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate high-value commercial agreements and drive long-term business growth.
- Strong financial acumen with experience partnering on budgeting, forecasting, annual planning, KPI development, and margin optimization.
- Strong understanding of e-commerce, product development, fulfillment, supply chain, merchandising, and customer experience.
