Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Surgery is a busy, well-respected orthopedic practice based in Manchester, Connecticut, with a second location in Tolland. We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to become a key part of our front office team.
This full-time role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, personable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced clinical environment. If you have a strong background in medical reception—particularly in a surgical setting—we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and triage a high volume of incoming calls
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using our practice management system
- Greet and check-in/check-out patients with professionalism and compassion
- Handle incoming/outgoing faxes and ensure proper documentation
- Process and follow up on Worker’s Compensation and disability claims
- Respond to attorney requests and coordinate documentation as needed
- Maintain the accuracy of patient records and assist with administrative tasks as assigned
Position Details
- Hours: 40 hours/week
(Flexibility required based on surgical schedules and practice volume)
- Travel: May occasionally be required between Manchester and Tolland locations
- Experience Preferred:
- Prior experience in a surgical or orthopedic practice
- Demonstrated knowledge of Worker’s Compensation and disability claim processing
- Familiarity with handling legal/attorney records requests related to claims
