THE ROLE  Imagine the excitement of deploying for six months overseas to deliver fitness, sports and recreation services to Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations. As a Fitness, Sports and Recreation Coordinator and Supervisor, you will:
Conduct personal and group fitness training, sports training and events.
Organize and deliver recreation events.
Deliver briefings and guidance on fitness, sports and recreation policies, directives and procedures.
Plan recreational activities, outings and events to sustain morale and fitness.
The Supervisor role is selected from the pool of Coordinator candidates after successful completion of the Training and Selection Course, overseeing the department, managing team members, scheduling and performance management.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED  Education, Certifications and Licenses College diploma or certificate in Exercise Sciences, or related field.
Current Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) designation.
Valid driver’s licence (Province).
Canadian citizenship.
Valid Canadian passport.
Experience Planning, organising and coordinating physical fitness, sports and recreation programs.
Applying policies, procedures, regulations and applicable legislation.
Evaluating physical fitness.
Preparing and conducting group physical fitness training sessions.
Preparing and administering tournaments and sporting events.
Officiating sporting events and/or athletic competitions.
Additional Supervisor Experience Coaching sports.
Managing facilities.
Inventory control and loss prevention.
Personnel administration.
Competencies Client focus, organisational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
Additional Qualifications Prior To Deployment Completion of a health, dental and psychosocial assessment.
Security screening.
Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
Ability to walk and lift, carry, pull or push heavy items.
Language Requirements  English – Essential.
JOB INFORMATION  POSITION TYPE  Civilian deployment contracts are 6-month terms. Deployment start dates may take place within the next 2 years.
Hours of work  Maximum 56 hours per week, which includes weekdays and weekends.
Benefits Tax‑free allowance: up to $1,756 per month (rates vary by mission/location/date).
Possibility of paid home leave and travel allowance.
