Position: Fitness, Sports and Recreation Coordinator/Supervisor-EN
Position Summary
Deploy as a civilian in overseas locations for six months delivering fitness, sports, and recreation services to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations. As a Coordinator and, upon selection, a Supervisor, your role includes planning and conducting personal and group fitness training, organizing sporting events and recreation activities, and providing guidance on fitness, sports and recreation policies.

Responsibilities

Conduct personal and group fitness training sessions.

Plan and deliver recreational activities, outings, and events.

Organize and administer tournaments and sporting events.

Provide briefings and guidance on fitness, sports and recreation policies, directives and procedures.

Coordinating fitness, sports and recreation for the CAF and partner nations.

Manage program schedules and resources.

If selected as Supervisor, lead and manage a team of Coordinators, overseeing performance, program delivery and department management.

Qualifications

College diploma or certificate in Exercise Sciences or related field.

Current Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) designation.

Valid driver’s licence (province).

Canadian citizenship and valid Canadian passport.

Experience in planning, organizing, and coordinating fitness, sports and recreation programs.

Experience applying policies, procedures, regulations and applicable legislation.

Experience evaluating physical fitness, preparing and conducting group fitness training, administering tournaments, officiating sporting events.

For Supervisor: experience coaching sports, managing facilities, inventory control, personnel administration.

Competencies:

client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

Additional qualifications prior to deployment: completion of health, dental and psychosocial assessment, security screening, Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C or willingness to obtain, ability to walk, lift, carry, pull or push heavy items.

English essential.

Job Information
Position type:
Civilian deployment contract – 6‑month term. Deployment start dates may take place within the next 2 years.

Hours of work:
Maximum 56 hours per week, including weekdays and weekends.

Tax‑free allowance up to $1,756 per month (rates based on mission/location/date).
