The Role
Imagine the excitement and ability to show off your incredible skills in a deployed environment (overseas) for six months delivering fitness, sports, and recreation services to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations. As a deployed Fitness, Sports and Recreation team member, you will not only deliver these services but also enhance overall morale and welfare of the troops deployed.

You will coordinate fitness, sports and recreation programmes, conduct individual and group training, organise recreation events, and provide briefings on policies and procedures. You will work in a land or ship‑based environment, adapt quickly, and support CAF abroad.

Qualifications Needed

College diploma or certificate in Exercise Sciences or related field

Current Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) designation

Valid driver’s licence (Province)

Canadian citizenship and valid passport

Experience

Experience planning, organising, and coordinating physical fitness, sports, and recreation programmes

Experience applying policies, procedures, regulations, and legislation to programme delivery

Experience evaluating physical fitness

Experience preparing and conducting group fitness sessions

Experience preparing and administering tournaments and sporting events

Experience of ficiating sporting events and/or competitions

Additional Supervisor Experience

In coaching sports

In managing facilities

In inventory control and loss prevention

In personnel administration

Competencies

Client focus and organisational knowledge

Excellent communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership skills

Additional Qualifications Prior To Deployment

Completion of health, dental and psychosocial assessment

Security screening

Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C, or willingness to obtain upon hire

Ability to walk and lift, carry, pull or push heavy items

Language Requirements
English – essential.

Job Information
Position type:
Civilian deployment contract – 6‑month term. Deployment start dates may occur within the next 2 years. Maximum 56 hours per week, including weekdays and weekends.

Tax‑free allowance: up to $1,756 per month, depending on mission/location/date
