The Forest Lake Sportsman’s Club is seeking a proactive, hands-on Facilities and Shooting Sports Lead to take charge of the Club’s daily operations, facilities, shooting sports equipment, and member and public experience. This hourly role plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and welcoming club operations.
The Facilities and Shooting Sports Lead will assist in overseeing front-line staff, shooting sports programs, events, facilities, and grounds maintenance while supporting strong member and public engagement and revenue-generating activities. This position reports to the Operations Manager and collaborates with the Board of Directors to align daily operations with the Club’s strategic goals, policies, and governance oversight.

Key Responsibilities Operations Management & Leadership
● Lead all day-to-day Club operations, including inventory control, daily sales receipts, POS reconcilliation and related administrative tasks.
● Evaluate operational workflows and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness.
Staff Leadership, Supervision & Scheduling
● Assist in training, supervising, and evaluating seasonal and operational employees.
● Provide leadership, coaching, performance feedback, and immediate corrective action as necessary.
● Delegate responsibilities to staff and volunteers to ensure adequate coverage and workload balance.
Customer Service & Member Experience
● Ensure a welcoming, safe, and positive atmosphere that supports member retention and repeat participation.
Events, Scheduling & Programs
● Help oversee shotgun competitions, including ATA, NSCA, and NSSA shoots.
● Coordinate with Business Manager and Match directors on additional shooting sports activities such as USPSA, 3-Gun, and .22LR events on equipment needed, ensuring that the club is helping to facilitate success with those matches
Range Operations
● Delegate range supervision while retaining authority to enforce safety rules and close ranges when necessary.
● Maintain accurate inventory of consumables for monthly record reporting.
Equipment, Facilities & Grounds Oversight
● Oversee inspection, maintenance, and repair of Club equipment, including target throwers, utility vehicles, steel targets, gates, and security systems.
● Responsible for equipment cleaning, fueling, safety checks, inventories, housekeeping, and storage organization.
● Oversee maintenance schedules to ensure facilities and grounds meet operational and safety standards.
● Oversee grounds maintenance, including mowing, brush cutting, trail work, tree maintenance, and basic repairs to parking lots and driveways, utilizing power and hand tools, and equipment such as lawn mowers, bobcats, side by sides as needed.
● Ensure range equipment and props are in good working order, and available to members and match directors
Safety
● Maintain basic first aid knowledge and ensure first aid kits are stocked and accessible.
● Respond to incidents in accordance with Club policies and training.
● Identify operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies to protect members, staff, and the Club.
Authority & Accountability
● Authorized to supervise staff and member volunteers, delegate duties, and make real-time operational decisions in the interest of safety, efficiency, and member experience.
● Act as a primary liaison between daily operations and club leadership.
Working Conditions & Schedule
● Part time position with duties performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
● Work schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays based on Club operations and events. The schedule is subject to change and set with Operations Manager and board oversight.
● Position requires the ability to perform physical tasks related to range operations, equipment handling, and facilities maintenance.
Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
