We are searching for an experienced Fabrication Manager that has true hands-on experience. If you have the required leadership and fabrication skills, you may be the person we are looking for.

We are a customer driven full-service shop offering fabricating, powder coat, and mechanical/electrical assembly services. This is a fabrication production environment with sporting goods products as our niche. If you like variety in your work and challenging projects, this may be the career path for you!

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ years related experience in a fabrication shop environment required
  • Technical degree preferred
  • Must have practical knowledge/experience in blueprint reading and AWS/ASME code welding
  • Experience with CO2 laser, press brake, welding, cutting, and finishing required
  • Significant hands-on supervisory experience with robust coaching/leadership skills and a servant leader mindset

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • The ability to Manage and coordinate work assignments for approximately 18-20 Fabricators including Laser Operator(s), Brake Press Operator(s), Pipe Cutters, & Welders
  • Work with Senior Management and other departments to ensure that project schedules are met for on-time delivery with flexibility for emergency work.
  • Participate in hiring.
  • Document and conduct proper investigations on Safety and Disciplinary action.
  • Provide feedback on quality issues and provide root cause investigation with corrective actions
  • Train supervised employees on the operation of fabrication equipment such as: Press Brake, Welding Machines, Plasma Burn Table, CO2 Laser, etc.
  • Overseeing of scheduling resources and material requirements needed to achieve production goals.
  • The ability to perform hands-on participation in fabrication when shop workload requires
  • Responsible for performing annual reviews of supervised employees with recommendations for improvement or disciplinary action while providing recommendations to management based on reviews.
  • Ensure all aspects of quality are in accordance with identified standards.
  • Work with Plant Manager on improving safety, quality, OTD, product flow and Lean daily management processes throughout the Fabrication Department including standardized procedures
  • Reporting on operations KPI’s and performance

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • High School Diploma: (Associates Degree preferred not required if years of experience is met)
  • 7+ years of welding/fabrication experience with CO2 laser and press brake knowledge preferred
  • 3 + years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of AWS Codes would be a plus
  • Experience with inventory and manufacturing software, such as M2M and Shop Manager
  • Knowledge and experience using Lean manufacturing practices desired
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook required, PowerPoint (preferred)
  • Must be able read and interpret drawings/prints
  • Understanding of 2D/3D CAD software is also a highly preferred but not required
