The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of the club and is responsible for advancing the organization's mission, vision, culture, and long-term sustainability. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides strategic leadership, organizational management, and operational oversight across all aspects of the club.

The Executive Director leads the club through its senior staff, including the Director of Coaching and Director of Programs & Operations, ensuring alignment between the club's strategic objectives and day-to-day execution. The Executive Director serves as the primary ambassador of the organization, building relationships with members, community partners, soccer organizations, donors, sponsors, and other key stakeholders.

Primary ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the club's long-term vision and strategic plan.
  • Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and organizational improvement.
  • Establish annual organizational priorities and objectives.
  • Ensure all club activities align with the mission, values, and strategic direction established by the Board.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Organizational Leadership

  • Provide direct leadership and supervision to senior staff.
  • Establish clear expectations, accountability measures, and performance standards.
  • Build and maintain a healthy, collaborative, high-performing organizational culture.
  • Develop organizational capacity through effective staffing, succession planning, and leadership development.
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration across all departments.

Board Partnership and Governance

  • Serve as the primary staff liaison to the Board of Directors.
  • Support the Board in governance, strategic planning, and policy development.
  • Prepare reports, recommendations, and updates for Board review.
  • Implement Board-approved policies and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with governing documents and applicable regulations.

Financial Stewardship

  • In partnership with the Board Treasurer, develop and manage the club's annual operating budget.
  • Monitor financial performance and organizational sustainability.
  • Identify opportunities to diversify and strengthen revenue streams.
  • Ensure appropriate financial controls, reporting, and accountability.
  • Support fundraising initiatives, sponsorship development, and donor engagement.

Community and External Relations

  • Serve as the primary representative of the club within the broader soccer and community landscape.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with leagues, federations, governing bodies, municipalities, schools, community organizations, sponsors, and strategic partners.
  • Promote the club's mission, values, and impact throughout the community.
  • Represent the club at meetings, events, and public functions.

Membership and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build trust and strong relationships with players, families, coaches, volunteers, alumni, and supporters.
  • Address significant organizational concerns and member issues when appropriate.
  • Ensure the club maintains a positive reputation and exceptional member experience.
  • Communicate organizational priorities, initiatives, and accomplishments effectively.

Organizational Oversight

  • Provide strategic oversight of all club programs and operations.
  • Partner with the Director of Coaching to ensure excellence in player and coach development.
  • Partner with the Director of Programs & Operations to ensure high-quality program delivery and operational execution.
  • Monitor organizational performance through key metrics and outcomes.
  • Allocate resources effectively to support club priorities.
