Elementary P. E. Teacher/Assistant Varsity Football Coach

The Texarkana Arkansas School District is accepting applications for P. E. teacher and assistant varsity football coach for the 2026-2027 school year.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students
to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Arkansas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of subjects assigned
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of sports, coaching and athletic safety

Experience:
At least one year of student teaching or approved internship

This is not a full-time coaching position; the coaching position will accompany a P.E. teaching assignment with an extended contract.
