Volleyball Girls Assistant Coach MS
The New Hope-Solebury School District is looking for a Volleyball Girls Assistant Coach for the Middle School. This role is responsible for the leadership and development of the 7th grade team while serving in an assistant capacity to the 8th grade coach to ensure a cohesive middle school program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, organization, and coaching of the 7th grade team while assisting the 8th grade coach with overall program administration and 8th grade team support.
- Coach and supervise student-athletes in fundamental volleyball skills, including serving, passing, setting, and basic court movement.
- Conduct structured practices for the 7th grade squad that emphasize skill development, team communication, and safe participation.
- Instruct student-athletes in game fundamentals and basic rotational systems appropriate for the 7th grade competitive level.
- Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to support individual growth and team development.
- Promote and model appropriate conduct, sportsmanship, and respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and the school community.
- Support the academic success and overall well-being of student-athletes in alignment with District expectations.
- Collaborate closely with the 8th grade coach to ensure vertical alignment in drills, terminology, and offensive/defensive systems.
- Oversee 7th grade match preparation and assist with 8th grade game management, including substitutions, equipment setup, and athlete supervision.
- Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of volleyball equipment (nets, balls, carts) and gym facilities.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with student-athletes, parents/guardians, administrators, and athletic department staff.
- Ensure compliance with District policies, PIAA regulations, and middle school league rules.
- Uphold and enforce District codes of conduct, team rules, and expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the 8th Grade Head Coach or Athletic Director.
Qualifications
- Prior coaching and or competitive experience in volleyball is preferred, specifically at the middle school or youth level.
- Knowledge of volleyball rules, modern court techniques, training principles, and safety practices.
- Ability to work effectively with middle-school-aged student-athletes in a developmental, educational environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the 8th grade coach, administrators, and school staff.
- Completion of all required District, PIAA, and state-mandated clearances and coaching certifications.

Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: up to $1,860 Per Year
