Title: Director of Sponsorships
Company: Kotinos Sports
Location: Doha, Qatar
About Kotinos
Kotinos is a sports advisory and representation firm based in Doha, working with athletes, institutions, events, and sports-related products across the region and internationally. We operate across athlete representation, sports marketing, consulting, events, research, and data, with a focus on building commercially successful and strategically positioned sports properties.
Kotinos is entering an exciting phase of growth. We are expanding our commercial portfolio, building new sports properties, and creating partnership opportunities for ambitious brands that want to connect with sport, culture, talent, communities, and major moments across Qatar, the GCC/MENA region, and international markets. We are looking for a senior commercial leader who can help shape this next chapter.
Role Overview
The Director – Sponsorship & Brand Partnerships will lead sponsorship sales and brand partnership development across Kotinos’ athlete portfolio, events, and company-led sports products.
This is a senior revenue-generating role for a proven commercial closer. The successful candidate will bring a strong personal network of brand, agency, and corporate decision-makers across Qatar, the wider GCC/MENA region, particularly KSA and UAE, and international markets. The Director will act as Kotinos’ senior commercial lead for sponsorship and brand partnerships. They will work closely with the internal team to refine sponsorship assets, shape compelling commercial propositions, approach the market, lead pitch conversations, negotiate terms, close deals, and help build a structured, repeatable sponsorship sales engine.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to do more than sell existing inventory. The role requires someone who can help build the commercial future of Kotinos: creating new opportunities, developing relationships with leading brands, supporting athletes and events, building the sponsorship function, and contributing to the wider growth of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership & Revenue Generation
- Lead Kotinos’ sponsorship and brand partnership revenue across athletes, events, and company-led sports products.
- Personally originate, pitch, negotiate, and close sponsorship and commercial partnership deals.
- Bring and activate an existing, current, and usable network of brand, agency, and corporate decision-makers from day one.
- Own opportunities from first conversation through to signed agreement, ensuring strong commercial momentum, clear next steps, and proper handover for delivery.
- Lead negotiations with sponsors and partners, ensuring deals are commercially valuable, deliverable, and aligned with the relevant athlete, event, or product.
Partnership Strategy, Packaging & Market Positioning
- Shape how Kotinos’ athletes, events, and sports products are positioned to brands and commercial partners.
- Work with the internal team to refine sponsorship proposals, pitch decks, pricing, rights packages, and commercial narratives.
- Ensure every commercial proposition is clear, sponsor-focused, and answers the key questions: why this opportunity, why this brand fit, what value is created, what the sponsor receives, what it costs, and what happens next.
- Translate reach, visibility, engagement, audience data, earned media value, and business outcomes into credible sponsor value.
- Use brand feedback, market insights, and performance data to improve future proposals, pricing, packaging, renewals, and upsell opportunities.
Pipeline, Reporting & Commercial Discipline
- Identify and pursue opportunities across sectors including banking, telecom, airlines, luxury, automotive, FMCG, technology, real estate, tourism, media, entertainment, & etc.
- Build and manage a structured sponsorship pipeline and CRM discipline across Kotinos.
- Ensure each opportunity has a clear stage, owner, next step, value, probability of closure, and follow-up date.
- Provide leadership with clear visibility on active opportunities, stalled deals, revenue forecasts, commercial priorities, and key blockers.
- Ensure outreach, follow-ups, reporting, and internal coordination are consistent, professional, and commercially focused.
- Build a more disciplined, scalable, and repeatable approach to sponsorship sales and brand partnerships.
Team Building & Organizational Growth
- Help build and develop Kotinos’ sponsorship function.
- Identify the people, capabilities, tools, and processes required to scale the commercial function over time.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and development of future team members within sponsorship sales and partnerships.
- Mentor and guide junior or supporting team members involved in research, proposals, outreach, account management, and partnership delivery.
- Work collaboratively across Kotinos to connect opportunities with the company’s wider ambitions.
Candidate Profile
- The ideal candidate is a senior commercial partnerships professional with at least 10 years of experience in sponsorship sales, brand partnerships, commercial rights, media sales, sports business, events, entertainment, or related sectors.
