Role Description The Director of Football Operations is a remote, contract role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational, logistical, and strategic aspects of A1R’s football division. This role manages communications between athletes, agency staff, and teams, and ensures compliance with league and agency policies. The Director will track player status and performance, maintain accurate records, and support contract and endorsement negotiations with research and preparation. Responsibilities also include planning off-season programs, organizing training and development opportunities, monitoring market trends, and contributing to long-term strategic initiatives for football clients and the agency. Collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders is central to this role to deliver consistent, high-quality service to athletes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in football operations, sports management, or athlete representation, with a strong understanding of professional football structures and league processes.
  • Proven ability to manage logistics and complex schedules, including travel planning, event coordination, and operational workflows for multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills for working with athletes, teams, coaches, and internal staff in a remote and collaborative setting.
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills, including maintaining accurate documentation, tracking performance data, and supporting contract-related activities.
  • Comfort with using digital tools and platforms for remote work, project management, and secure information sharing.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical judgment, with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Prior experience working with professional or collegiate football programs, agencies, or sports organizations is strongly preferred.
