Our customer is a premium wellness and health club located in Sofia. Combining advanced medical sports therapy with top-tier fitness and aquatic ecosystems, the club delivers a premium, highly tailored experience.
We are seeking an accomplished Business Operations Director who will serve as the senior administrative and operational officer of the premium Club.
Business Operations Director takes responsibility for managing staff and dealing with instructors, suppliers and with the technical aspects, provision and health and safety. He/she is responsible for every aspect of the day-to-day management of the Club. The Director is also accountable for the overall profitability of the Club. He/she is also responsible for the strategic planning, supporting both the retention of customers and continued growth. He/she will need to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders including, but not limited to administration, facilities and logistics teams, prospective customers, sports instructors and partners.
Key responsibilities:
- Identifying new business opportunities and new business development
- Searching and launching new relevant activities
- Recruiting and managing the team
- Improving the operations and optimizing the processes
- Overall P&L responsibility
- Budget responsibility and financial management
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Setting up, recruiting, training, growing and developing the team he/she is responsible for
- Identifying new and developing further existing key business partners, signing cooperation agreements with them
- Designing and promoting activities to meet customer demand and generate revenue
- Maintaining high levels of customer care, often with a particular focus on avoiding loss of existing customers of the Club
- Recruiting, training and supervising staff
- Keeping statistical and financial records
- Managing maintenance, repairs and cleaning
- Carrying out health and safety checks on the equipment and site
- Handling complaints and incidents, e.g. accidents, emergencies or theft
- Preparing and checking budgets and generating income; communicate with the accounting company providing accounting and payroll services
- Keeping stock records
- Communicate with supplies and partners
- Prepare shift and timetables and cope with fluctuations in demand
- Providing periodic market research and reporting to group management
- Writing monthly or weekly reports for the senior management
In respect of the ideal candidate profile:
- University Degree (business, management or other business-related subjects; sport, leisure or recreation management; sports science; travel, tourism studies)
- At least 2 years of experience in managing a sport centre, hotel
- Experience in luxury segment
- An interest in physical fitness and sport would be an advantage
- Excellent sales skills
- Good interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
- Good team working skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team
- Creative thinking and problem-solving
- Flexibility and multi-tasking skills
- A customer-focused, approachable and outgoing personality
- The ability to relate to the requirements of customers from all age groups
- Proficient in the use of MS Office: strong knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Effective communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- High level of energy, drive and enthusiasm
- Excellent command on Bulgarian and English
- A proactive self-starter who can operate both individually and as a part of a team
- Self-motivated and goal oriented
