Director of Business Alignment & Strategic Partnerships (Founding / Fractional) Jobs in United States at echoflag

Title: Director of Business Alignment & Strategic Partnerships (Founding / Fractional)

Company: echoflag

Location: United States

Company Description

EchoFlag is building independent accountability infrastructure designed to transform how organizations respond to abuse, misconduct, and safeguarding failures.

We exist to End the Silence. Protect the Vulnerable. Rebuild Trust.

This is not a compliance tool. This is not SaaS.

This is a new category… where accountability, transparency, and advocacy operate outside organizational control.

EchoFlag is committed to transforming how the world addresses abuse, misconduct, and trust within vulnerable spaces such as sports, schools, youth programming, online platforms, digital communities, as well as many other sectors. In essence, EchoFlag will impact any space where vulnerability meets trust and power. By embedding truth, accountability, and transparency into organizations, EchoFlag works to restore trust where it has been lost.

With a leadership team boasting extensive experience in safeguarding, law enforcement, victim advocacy, and enterprise risk mitigation…

EchoFlag is building an external ecosystem to battle the systemic safeguarding failures that have plagued vulnerable spaces for decades by forcing accountability and providing advocacy to the voices that are so often silenced.

EchoFlag is also building an internal ecosystem for true independent comprehensive safeguarding, incident response, accountability, and enterprise risk mitigation. Through partnerships with model partner organizations and strategic partners, we are setting new standards for how abuse and misconduct are addressed while expanding our efforts to instill systemic change.

Our mission is to End the Silence, Protect the Vulnerable, and Rebuild Trust.

A Message from the Founder & CEO

Let’s be clear… This is not a job. This is not a stepping-stone. This is not for people looking to build a résumé.

What we are building at EchoFlag sits at the intersection of failure… where systems break, accountability disappears, and vulnerable people are left exposed.

Most organizations avoid, ignore, or are unaware of that reality. We refuse to look the other way.

And we are not interested in bringing in people who are uncomfortable confronting it.

  • If you are driven primarily by compensation…
  • If you are looking for a predictable, comfortable role…
  • If you need constant direction instead of taking ownership…
  • If you are unwilling to stand up when it matters most- guided by sound judgement, professionalism, and guided by our mission…
  • If you are the type to look the other way when something doesn’t feel right…
  • If you do not protect and serve as a voice for the vulnerable…

Do not apply. This environment will expose you quickly.

However:

If you are someone who:

  • Takes ownership without waiting to be told
  • Can sit across from leadership and speak with clarity, even when it’s uncomfortable
  • Understands that accountability is not a talking point… it’s a standard
  • Is willing to walk away from the wrong opportunity, even at a cost
  • And is driven by the responsibility to protect those who cannot protect themselves

Then this is the work.

And understand this unmalleable reality.

I am the ultimate gatekeeper of this organization and proudly carry the personal responsibility of protecting each and every team member at every level that joins our fight.

We protect our people. We protect our culture. We build an environment where they can thrive, lead, and create meaningful impact for the vulnerable we protect, themselves, and their loved ones.

Who we bring into EchoFlag matters as much as what we build.

Our internal culture, standards, and integrity will never be compromised… not for growth, not for opportunity, not for anyone.

We protect our culture with the same discipline and conviction that we expect organizations to protect the people they serve.

What we are building cannot be controlled, buried, or ignored.

That requires a different caliber of person.

We are selective by design.

This is a rare opportunity to help change how the world protects the vulnerable… and to be part of building something that will stand as part of your legacy long after we’re all gone.

Carlos R. Salazar

Founder & CEO, EchoFlag

Role Description

This is not traditional business development.

We are not pursuing volume.

We are not operating from a transactional model. Our focus is on building aligned, long-term partnerships centered on accountability, risk, and trust.

And we are not interested in partnering with “anyone willing to sign.”

EchoFlag operates with a fundamentally different standard.

We are highly selective in the organizations and partnerships we engage and ultimately align with. Every partnership carries reputational weight, operational responsibility, and direct impact on the protection of vulnerable populations.

This role is centered on identifying, engaging, and advancing the right partners—organizations whose leadership is prepared to:

  • Embrace accountability and transparency
  • Address real risk exposure, not mask it
  • Take a forward-leaning stance on protecting the people they serve

That means:

  • Fewer conversations, but significantly higher stakes
  • Longer-term strategic alignment vs. short-term transactions
  • Direct engagement with executive leadership and decision-makers
  • A disciplined approach to who we bring into the EchoFlag ecosystem

You will not be measured by volume.

You will be measured by your ability to:

  • Open the right doors
  • Engage the right leadership
  • Help align the right organizations with a mission that demands more than lip service

In many cases, we will walk away from opportunities that do not meet our standard.

That is by design.

If your approach to business development is driven by volume, this will not be the right role.

If it is driven by conviction, discernment, and long-term impact, this may be one of the most meaningful opportunities you'll encounter in your lifetime.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and engage aligned organizations and strategic partners across priority sectors, with a focus on leadership teams committed to accountability, transparency, and meaningful impact in safeguarding the vulnerable populations they serve.
  • Build relationships with executive leadership (CEO, Executive Director, Board level)
  • Facilitate and advance strategic partnership conversations in collaboration with the CEO
  • Represent EchoFlag in high-level discussions centered on accountability, risk, and trust
  • Apply disciplined judgment in evaluating organizational fit—not all opportunities are pursued
  • Help ensure partnerships reflect EchoFlag’s standards for accountability, transparency, and mission alignment
  • Operate as a strategic filter as much as a relationship builder
  • Help shape and build the Business Alignment function as the company scales

What We're Looking For

  • Proven ability to open doors and engage senior decision-makers
  • Experience in partnerships, enterprise sales, consulting, or strategic advisory
  • High credibility in conversations involving risk, governance, or organizational leadership
  • Strong alignment with EchoFlag’s mission and willingness to operate in a high-accountability environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in early-stage environments

Engagement & Compensation

This is a fractional, independent contractor engagement structured for experienced executive operators who value autonomy and performance-based upside.

  • Competitive performance-based compensation tied to partnerships originated and closed
  • Residual participation on renewals and long-term partnerships
  • Additional upside tied to enterprise, national-level, and global engagements
  • Participation in downstream service lines tied to originated partners
  • Clear path to full-time senior leadership role as EchoFlag scales

Qualifications

This role is structured for long-term alignment, not short-term gain.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in ambiguity and building from zero to scale
  • Strong alignment with EchoFlag’s mission and a genuine commitment to driving systemic change and accountability
  • Experience or meaningful exposure to environments serving vulnerable populations—such as youth sports, schools, educational institutions, youth programs, or similar mission-driven and digital platforms—is strongly preferred, with an understanding of the unique risks, responsibilities, and accountability challenges within these environments, and the ability to translate that understanding across adjacent sectors
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior decision-makers (CEO, Executive Director, Board level)
  • Proven experience in strategic partnerships, enterprise relationships, or advisory roles—with a track record of building trust with key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex organizational dynamics, risk exposure, and alignment
  • Experience in contract structuring and negotiation, with a focus on long-term, mutually aligned outcomes
  • Ability to operate with discernment and discipline—understanding that not every opportunity should be pursued
  • Proven capability in strategic planning and execution within evolving or early-stage environments
  • Experience in safeguarding, advocacy, risk management, or incident response is a strong advantage
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence, with the ability to navigate sensitive, high-stakes conversations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating executive-level capability in partnerships, strategic advisory, or organizational leadership
  • A strong commitment to EchoFlag’s mission, values, and vision of systemic change.
