Maimonides School, a Preschool – Grade 12 Orthodox Jewish day school in Brookline, MA, is seeking an experienced Director of Athletics and Physical Education for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Teaching and Administrative Responsibilities:

· Plan and implement engaging lessons that promote physical activity in children grades K-8;

· Responsible for the overall operations of Maimonides athletic programs and sports teams;

· Provide a safe and secure environment that encourages active participation, motivates students, and meets the needs of individual students;

· Hire and supervise coaching staff for athletic teams, including Varsity/Junior Varsity sports, and Middle School sports teams. May also coach teams, as needed;

· Schedule games and events, including securing of off campus facilities and fields, arranging transportation, hiring officials and other administrative duties;

· Prepare and monitor the annual athletic budget, approve expenses, keep costs sustainable within the larger school budget;

· Enforce compliance with MIAA rules and Maimonides school standards for academic achievement as they relate to student athlete expectations and religious observance;

· Organize and coordinate annual athletic ceremonies and events;

· Responsible for the health and safety of all student athletes, including the annual process of updating their physical exams for school records;

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, sports management or a related field;

· Minimum of 2 yrs experience in teaching, coaching, or athletics administration;

· Strong leadership, communication and team management skills;

· Demonstrated ability to work well with students, staff and parents in a professional manner.

Pay: $58,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
