The International School of MN (ISM) seeks an Athletics & Activities Director to join our community!
We are looking for an experienced Athletics leader who has a proven track record of nurturing co-op partnerships within the MSHSL rules. The Athletic & Activities Director promotes extracurricular athletic activity that fosters skill development, understanding of sports, and appreciation for a variety of athletic activities and programs, teaming, and sportsmanship for students and adults.
The Athletics & Activities Director arranges activities that fosters the development of interests of the student population outside of athletics.
This is a leadership position within ISM and a member of our Pillar leadership team.
Primary Duties and Tasks: (The full Job Description is available after the first interviews are confirmed).
- Lead the development, implementation and execution of ISM’s athletics and activities offerings and participation.
- Prepares and communicates offerings with ISM Community members and partners.
- Develop processes that support community engagement promoting organization and student success.
- Partners with the Head of School and Pillar members to ensure cohesive scheduling for all programming.
- Ensures compliance of student requirements and coaching requirements with the MSHSL rules.
- Procures and oversees maintenance and repair of ISM’s equipment, supplies and inventory, including uniforms.
- Leads athletics event management to include appropriate planning and scheduling for appropriate support of events.
- Oversees and directly communicates regarding transportation for athletics and activities.
- Manages activities offerings to provide student well-rounded growth through a variety of options reflecting interests of our community members.
Management:
- Represent the School and its interests at both internal and external events.
- Plan and execute professional, high-quality, high-yielding athletics and activities events.
- Train team members staff on offering and messaging.
- Lead the activities of enrollment and engagement in provided offerings.
- Oversees coaches, activity leads and vendors for compliance and adherence to internal and external expectations and requirements.
- Foster a collaborative, fun & engaging work environment.
Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- First Aid, CPR, and Swim Safety certifications.
- 5+ years of teaching/coaching experience.
- Experience as an athletic director or head coach
- Possess valid and appropriate State certifications, as necessary.
- Knowledge of Minnesota State High School League rules and regulations
- Thorough knowledge of annual activity registration and eligibility forms for each participant
- Working knowledge of rSchool, Arbitor, Today, google calendars, and Microsoft Suite.
- Experience in planning, formulating, and implementing athletic programs.
- Knowledge and experience in budget and financial operations, processes, and procedures.
- Experience in managing, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and appropriately addressing issues and concerns in relation to athletics.
- Timely, accurate, and effective in handling tasks and expectations.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to produce results independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
- Good command of the English language, oral and written.

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
