Content Marketing Specialist Jobs in Kansas City Metropolitan Area at ShotTracker Inc.

Title: Content Marketing Specialist

Company: ShotTracker Inc.

Location: Kansas City Metropolitan Area

ROLE OVERVIEW

ShotTracker is looking for a Content Marketing Specialist who moves fast, finishes what they start and never needs to be told twice.

This is an important hire in a lean, high-output marketing department. You will own daily content execution across every channel while the Director of Marketing focuses on strategy and growth. That means you are not waiting for direction on every task. You are identifying what needs to be done and doing it.

ShotTracker operates at a startup pace. Priorities shift. Deadlines stack up. The person who thrives here moves quickly, maintains a high standard of quality under pressure and brings the kind of attention to detail that keeps work from falling back on anyone else.

If you prefer a predictable workload and clearly defined projects, this role is not the right fit. If you want to own real marketing output at a company building category-defining technology in basketball, keep reading.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Content Creation and Execution

• Write, edit and publish content across blogs, email campaigns, website copy, case studies, social media and sales materials on a consistent weekly cadence.

• Develop and execute video scripts, thought leadership pieces and product marketing content that translate ShotTracker technology into clear, benefit-driven stories for coaches, video coordinators and athletic directors.

• Produce content in multiple formats and adapt tone and structure to match the audience, the platform and the moment.

• Generate and pitch original content ideas aligned with campaigns, product launches and the basketball calendar. Ideas without follow-through do not count here.

Content Strategy and Planning

• Own the editorial content calendar. Build it, maintain it and keep it moving in sync with product releases, conference events and the competitive selling window.

• Research trends in sports technology, analytics, NIL and performance data to stay ahead of what audiences care about and inform content direction.

• Apply SEO best practices to written content from the first draft, not as an afterthought.

• Track content performance across platforms and come to the table with specific recommendations based on what the data shows.

Cross-Functional Execution

• Coordinate with marketing, product, sales and leadership to align content with messaging priorities and upcoming initiatives. Keep everyone informed. Eliminate surprises.

• Build and maintain sales enablement materials that give the sales team what they need before they have to ask for it.

• Collaborate with designers and subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate, visually on-brand and ready to publish.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field.

• 2–5 years of content marketing, content writing or communications experience in a fast-moving environment.

• Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to work in multiple voices and formats without sacrificing quality.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously without dropping detail.

• Experience with WordPress or comparable content management systems.

• Working knowledge of SEO tools, analytics platforms and content performance tracking.

• Experience with CRM platforms, preferably Zoho.

• Strong communicator who keeps colleagues informed and closes loops without being prompted.

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in sports, sports technology, SaaS or B2B marketing environments.

• Familiarity with basketball or genuine interest in sports performance analytics.

• Experience owning or contributing to an editorial content calendar.

• Comfort with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva or video editing platforms.

• Experience managing social content strategy across LinkedIn, X, Instagram and YouTube.

• Experience using AI-assisted content tools to increase output quality and execution speed.

WHAT WE NEED TO SEE IN YOU

• You move fast without sacrificing quality. Deadlines are not suggestions and you treat them that way.

• You finish things. You follow projects from first draft to published without someone chasing you across the finish line.

• You sweat the details. Typos, inconsistent messaging and off-brand copy are things you catch before anyone else does.

• You communicate proactively. If there is a blocker, a delay or a change in direction, you say so early. You do not go quiet.

• You adapt without drama. Priorities shift in this environment. You adjust and keep going.

• You bring ideas. You stay curious about the audience, the sport and the market, and that curiosity shows up in your work.

• You operate independently. You understand what good looks like and you hold yourself to that standard without someone reviewing every step.
