Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Construction Safety Manager to join our team. The Construction Safety Manager will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing workplace health and safety policies to ensure a safe environment for all employees, subcontractors, vendors, and visitors.
In addition to overseeing construction safety initiatives, this role will support the company’s fleet safety program by helping monitor driver performance, vehicle safety compliance, and driver coaching initiatives utilizing telematics and fleet safety technologies.
Responsibilities
- Managing and supporting company safety program implementation across active constructions projects
- Support the company’s fleet safety program, including driver safety initiatives, vehicle compliance, and accident prevention efforts
- Monitoring field team compliance with policies and procedures
- Monitor driver safety performance through telematics and fleet management platforms such as Samsara or similar technologies.
- Travel to project sites to conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Assist in reviewing driver safety events, vehicle incidents, and motor vehicle records (MVRs) to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations (e.g., OSHA)
- Lead safety training sessions, safety meetings and toolbox talks
- Coordinate driver safety training and coaching programs to reduce risk and improve overall fleet performance.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend improvements
- Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation
- Coordinate emergency response plans and drills
- Ensure customer safety requirements are met and properly documented.

Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Construction Safety Manager or similar role
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations
- Experience with fleet safety programs, driver coaching, or transportation safety initiatives is preferred.
- Familiarity with telematics, dash camera systems, and driver safety platforms such as Samsara, Geotab, Motive, or similar technologies is strongly preferred.
- Experience analyzing safety data and identifying trends to improve driver and workplace safety is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Certification such as OSHA 30, CSP, or CHST is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally
- Availability to travel
- Will involve working outdoors and on active job sites
- Ability to stand, walk, and inspect sites for extended periods
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
