Position Summary
The Wax Culture is seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Combat Sports Card Breaker to host live sports card breaks, engage with collectors, and create an entertaining shopping experience across platforms such as Fanatics, Whatnot, TikTok Live, YouTube, and Instagram. The ideal candidate has a passion for combat and trading cards, is comfortable on camera, and can build excitement while maintaining professionalism and accuracy during live events. Card breakers host live openings of card boxes and packs for customers who purchase spots in the break. This role will specialize in Combat sports, such as WWE, UFC, and Boxing.

The Wax Culture is an innovative and growing Professional Sports & Trading Card Breaking Team that strives to bring new and exciting breaking concepts to collectors and hobby enthusiasts. We are based in Victor, NY and this role is onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Host live sports card breaks and livestream events.
- Open sports card products on camera while providing commentary and entertainment.
- Engage with viewers through live chat and answer questions.
- Identify key superstars/fighters, rookies, parallels, autographs, and valuable hits.
- Promote upcoming breaks, products, and special events.
- Maintain accurate records of break results and customer assignments.
- Sort, package, and prepare cards for shipping after breaks.
- Stay current on combat news, card releases, hobby trends, and market values.
- Create a fun, high-energy atmosphere that encourages repeat customers and sales.
- Educate customers and buyers on available spots within a break that is being hosted, while having knowledge of pricing, structuring, and filling the break prior to opening the product on-air.
- Opening, sleeving, toploading, and organizing cards with extreme care and attention to detail.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and camera-ready at all times.
· Assist as-needed with administrative responsibilities including but not limited to shipping and customer service.
· Collaborate with operations regarding products and programming, marketing and social media needs, and attend local card shows and industry events.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of combat sports.
- Strong knowledge of sports cards.
- Comfortable speaking on camera and interacting with a live audience.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask while streaming, selling, and managing chat interactions.
- Familiarity with live-streaming platforms such as Whatnot, TikTok Live, Twitch, or YouTube is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and appropriate packaging when handling valuable collectibles.
- Sales, retail, entertainment, or content creation experience is a plus.
- HS Diploma or GED.
- Dependable and punctual for assigned shifts.
- Detail oriented while engaging on camera and acknowledging comments and dialogue in real-time.
- Must be proficient with computers and able to navigate through systems.
Preferred Skills
- Live-stream hosting experience.
- Knowledge of current card market trends and product releases.
- Basic photography, video production, or social media marketing skills.
- Experience with card sorting, grading, and shipping procedures.
- Ability to build community and customer loyalty.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended livestreams or shipping activities.
- Ability to handle and organize collectibles with care.
- Ability to verbally communicate, read, and type
- Occasionally lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds
Additional Details:
- Base Rate of Pay: $20-22/hour dependent upon experience, plus commission bonuses

- Flexible Schedule, 30-40 hours weekly
