Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist specializing in lathe or milling operations to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC machines to produce precision components according to detailed specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CNC programming, and a thorough understanding of blueprint reading and measurement techniques. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality production processes in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities .
· Minimum of 3 years Basic Machinist Training (some schooling may count towards this).
· CNC Programming experience preferred, specifically Mazatrol and/or Mastercam.
· Independently run CNC Lathes and/or mills and be able to edit and understand CNC Programs.
· Operate a variety of CNC Machine Controllers and be able to make stable and secure “Set-Ups” for machining parts.
· Should have basic skills and ability to run Manual Lathes and Mills.
· Understand and constantly practice “On the Job Safety”
· Must be able to read and understand Engineering Drawings, including GD&T callouts. Provide Inspection Reports in a clear manner.
· Must be able to hold tight tolerances.
· Must have basic trigonometry skills
· Must be able to do own set-ups with little help.
· Must be able to work overtime when necessary.
· Must be able to use and read most measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, etc.
· Must have a working knowledge of speeds and feeds to extend tool life.
· Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, etc.)
· Must be able to work with and covert between ANSI & METRIC dimensions.
· Must have basic knowledge of set-ups and be able to assist in most set-ups alone and/or minimal assistance.
· Must be able to follow instructions.
· Should have own basic Tools (such as calipers & micrometers) – the Company provides specialized Tools that go beyond standard expectations.
· Must get along well with others (including Shop Management), be able to provide clear Job Turnovers, and follow Company Policies.
· Ability to work swings shifts if/as required.
· Capable of lifting up to 50lbs
Skills:
- Proven experience operating CNC lathe or milling machines with Fanuc or similar control systems
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and CAM software like SolidWorks or CAD for design interpretation
- Expertise in blueprint reading and GD&T for accurate part fabrication
- Mechanical knowledge related to tooling selection, fixture setup, and machining techniques
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances
- Experience with plastics injection molding or welding is advantageous but not required
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize efficiency and reduce waste
- Ability to operate forklifts and power tools safely when needed

Pay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour
