Mater Academy Charter Middle High School is an "A" Rated College Preparatory Charter School in Miami-Dade County. We are seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, and student-centered High School Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.
This course provides students with foundational knowledge in athletic injury prevention, sports medicine, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, wellness, and healthy lifestyles while promoting safe participation in physical activity. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with high school students and creating an engaging, hands-on learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach the Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries curriculum in accordance with Florida Standards.
- Develop engaging, hands-on lessons that promote injury prevention, sports medicine, anatomy, nutrition, fitness, and healthy decision-making.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
- Collaborate with the Physical Education Department, Athletic Director, coaches, and school leadership to support student success.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Maintain compliance with all school, district, and state policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid Florida Educator Certificate in Health K–12 or Physical Education K–12, or eligibility to obtain Florida certification.
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in athletics, coaching, sports medicine, or athletic training is preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
