Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Athletic Trainer/Medical Assistant, where you’ll play a vital role in promoting athlete health, injury prevention, and recovery. This energetic position combines athletic training expertise with medical assisting duties to deliver comprehensive care to active individuals. Your role is to support our orthopedic surgeons with patient care, procedures, and efficient clinic flow. This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on role essential to delivering excellent patient care.
Duties
- Room patients, take vitals, complete histories, and document in EMR
- Maintain smooth patient flow and assist physicians with procedures
- Remove/apply casts and splints; remove sutures/staples
- Draw up/administer injections under protocols; perform phlebotomy
- Order x‑rays per protocol and prepare surgical packets
- Fit DME and provide patient instructions
- Manage patient phone calls and document all communication
- Clean/stock exam rooms and sterilize instruments
Requirements
- Certification as an Athletic Trainer from an accredited organization (e.g., NATA Board of Certification)
- Medical assisting certification or relevant healthcare certification (e.g., CMA, RMA)
- Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology
- Experience in sports medicine, injury management, or related fields
- Excellent communication skills
- EMR experience; 30+ wpm typing
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work independently
- Casting/splinting experience preferred
Monday–Friday, generally 7:45 AM–5:00 PM, with arrival 15–20 minutes before clinic start. Hours vary by provider.
Pay: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour
