Certified Athletic Trainer Jobs in Seattle, WA at Orca Sports Rehab

Athletic Trainer – Sports Rehabilitation & Strength Conditioning

Orca Sports Rehab | Seattle, WA

Orca Sports Rehab is seeking an Athletic Trainer with a strong background in strength and conditioning to help guide patients through exercise-based rehabilitation sessions under the delegation of Board Certified Chiropractic Sports Physicians.

This is not a traditional athletic training role.

Our clinic blends sports medicine, rehabilitation, movement analysis, and performance-focused strength training to help active adults and athletes return to high levels of function. We are looking for someone who is passionate about movement, coaching, and progressive loading strategies, and who enjoys helping patients rebuild confidence through strength and skill acquisition.

This role is designed for clinicians who enjoy bridging the gap between rehabilitation and performance.

The ideal candidate is highly comfortable demonstrating, coaching, and modifying movement patterns ranging from early-stage rehabilitation to advanced lifting progressions.

What You’ll Do

You will work closely with Board Certified Sports Chiropractors to implement active rehabilitation plans for patients ranging from postoperative orthopedic cases to recreational and competitive athletes.

Treatment sessions commonly include:

  • Movement retraining
  • Progressive loading strategies
  • Spine-sparing exercise modification
  • Strength and conditioning principles
  • Return-to-sport progression
  • Coaching foundational movement patterns

Our rehabilitation model frequently builds toward foundational lifts and athletic movement patterns including:

  • Deadlifts
  • Front squats
  • Push presses
  • Carries
  • Cleans
  • Jerks
  • Snatches

using barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, cables, landmine systems, and bodyweight progressions as clinically appropriate.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate:

  • Has strong movement coaching skills
  • Is highly comfortable in a gym and rehabilitation environment
  • Can adapt exercise progressions in real time based on patient presentation
  • Understands orthopedic rehabilitation principles
  • Communicates clearly and confidently with patients
  • Thrives in a collaborative sports medicine setting

This role requires both clinical reasoning and the ability to coach movement effectively. Many of our patients are active adults with complex orthopedic histories who require individualized modifications and thoughtful progression strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead therapeutic exercise sessions based on active care plans developed by Board Certified Sports Specialists
  • Demonstrate and coach movement progressions integrating rehabilitation and strength training principles
  • Modify exercises and loading strategies based on daily patient presentation
  • Support return-to-sport and performance-based rehabilitation goals
  • Maintain individualized attention and safety while overseeing up to two patients simultaneously
  • Accurately document patient encounters in JaneApp according to clinic standards
  • Assist with patient flow and communication throughout the treatment experience
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and movement-focused clinical environment

Qualifications

Required:

  • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)
  • Experience in sports rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, or performance training
  • Strong competency coaching compound lifts and movement progressions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think critically and adapt within a dynamic rehab setting

Preferred:

  • CSCS or additional strength and conditioning background
  • Experience working with orthopedic rehabilitation populations
  • Background in barbell training, kettlebells, Olympic lifting, or athletic performance environments
  • Experience with return-to-sport progression and movement analysis

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly compensation based on experience
  • Signing bonus available
  • Clinic-paid parking
  • Medical benefits
  • Sick pay
  • Monday–Friday schedule
  • Structured mentorship and clinical development
  • Access to rehabilitation and recovery equipment
  • Collaborative sports medicine environment with growth opportunities
