Cashier/Customer Service Jobs in Longview, WA at Bob’s Sporting Goods
We are looking for a courteous Cashier who possesses excellent communication and customer service skills. The Cashier will scan the customer’s selections, ensure that prices and quantities are accurate, accept payments, issue receipts, answer inquiries, and provide helpful information to customers about products, promotions, or item location. You will also process refunds or exchanges of items, and maintain a clean workspace.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers as they enter the store.
- Handle cash, credit, or check transactions with customers.
- Scan goods and collect payments, ensuring all prices and quantities are accurate.
- Issue change, receipts, refunds, or tickets.
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
- Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas.
- Keep reports of transactions.
- Process returns and check to see if items are damaged.
- Answer customers’ questions and get a manager if the answer doesn’t solve the issue.
- Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction.

Requirements:
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Customer satisfaction-oriented.
- Attention to detail and mathematical skills.
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
- High school degree.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift items up to 10 lbs., and work with other team members in a fast-paced environment to provide excellent service.

- Working with the public, particularly during peak shopping seasons or sales events.
