Campus Recreation – Intramurals Coordinator
Pay Range: Compensation for this position is expected to range between $24.00 and $26.00 per hour, in alignment with what California Baptist University (CBU) reasonably anticipates paying for this role. The final rate may vary depending on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and prevailing market conditions. Position Summary: Assist in managing, developing, and directing various student activities including intramural sports, recreation center services, and other Campus Recreation programs that reflect the Christian values of California Baptist University.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of comprehensive Campus Recreation programs.
- Provide oversight of various intramural sports programs both on and off campus.
- Provide oversight of Esports programs, including leagues and tournaments.
- Provide oversight of the department’s intramural equipment inventory and purchasing of all intramural-related items.
- Assist in establishing and implementing short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures regarding intramural sports.
- Assist in the recruitment, employment, training, supervision, and evaluation of student interns, intramural referees, and graduate assistants.
- Assist in the development and management of appropriate departmental budgets.
- Monitor and evaluate operational effectiveness and effect changes required for improvement.
- Develop strategic annual marketing plans to further student involvement in intramural sports programs and provide oversight and execution of such plans.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of intramural policies and procedures.
- Maintain scheduled office hours with the requirement of a flexible schedule of availability at night and on weekends.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsibility may include assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers to complete office work assignments.

- Ability to develop and maintain record‑keeping systems and procedures.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
- Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
Physical Demands
The physical demands for this position include standing, walking, sitting, hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate fitness equipment and computer. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking/hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. May involve moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises. Requires regular physical activity;
may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for more than six (6) hours per day. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabled individuals.
Work Environment
Moderate noise level; work normally performed outdoors and in typical interior/office settings with minimum exposure to health or safety hazards.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
