Builder/Assembly Technician for Off Road & Side-by-Side Vehicles Jobs in Sunman, IN at On Target Sporting Goods
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Builder / Assembly Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for assembling, inspecting, and preparing new Polaris and Can-Am off-road vehicles for customer delivery. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high-quality work, follows manufacturer specifications, and enjoys working in a fast-paced powersports environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble new Polaris and Can-Am off-road vehicles according to manufacturer specifications and assembly procedures.
- Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) to ensure vehicles meet quality and safety standards.
- Install OEM accessories and customer-requested upgrades.
- Inspect completed vehicles for proper operation, fit, finish, and overall quality.
- Diagnose and correct assembly issues prior to delivery.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Properly use and maintain hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and shop equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies and manufacturer guidelines.
- Accurately complete required assembly and inspection documentation.
- Work collaboratively with the service, parts, and sales departments to ensure timely vehicle delivery.
- Assist with moving, staging, and organizing vehicles within the dealership as needed.
- Perform additional shop-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Physical stamina and manual dexterity to handle various tools, equipment, and vehicle components.
- Ability to read and follow manufacturer assembly instructions and service documentation.
- Willingness to learn and stay up to date on new vehicle models, technologies, and manufacturer procedures.
- Previous powersports, automotive, agricultural equipment, or mechanical assembly experience is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed primarily in a repair workshop or dealership service environment.
- Regular standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and move heavy parts and equipment.
- Work hours may include evenings and weekends based on business needs.
Pay and Benefits
- Starting pay is $16.00 per hour minimum, with higher compensation based on experience, qualifications, and mechanical skill level.
