Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Broadcast Lead – CATV & IPTV Specialist to oversee the design, implementation, and operations of broadcast and video distribution systems for large-scale environments, including high-profile and mega sporting events.
This role requires deep technical expertise in broadcast engineering, IPTV systems, and network infrastructure, along with strong leadership capabilities to manage end-to-end delivery across venues.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Technical Leadership
- Lead end-to-end broadcast system delivery across multiple venues, ensuring alignment with project timelines and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with internal development teams to support project implementation, integration, and issue resolution.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in broadcast and digital video systems.
Broadcast & IPTV Systems Management
- Oversee the implementation and operations of CATV, IPTV, Digital, and Analogue broadcast systems within venues.
- Manage full broadcast lifecycle, including:
- Signal collection
- Terrestrial transmission
- Encoding & decoding
- Monitoring & modulation
- Ensure seamless delivery of IPTV and multicast video services across networks.
Infrastructure & Network Operations
- Supervise operations of broadcast-grade IP Spine & Leaf network architecture acting as the venue backbone.
- Ensure high availability and performance of video distribution systems.
- Manage international broadcast connectivity in line with technical and event requirements.
System Integration & Testing
- Lead integration, testing, and commissioning of audio/video broadcast systems.
- Ensure systems meet broadcast standards, redundancy requirements, and performance benchmarks.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Review vendor contracts, ensuring technical specifications meet project and operational needs.
- Coordinate with vendors, partners, and stakeholders for seamless delivery and support.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight during deployments and upgrades.
Redundancy & Reliability
- Ensure delivery of fully redundant CATV systems and multi-channel IPTV services.
- Implement failover strategies and maintain service continuity during live events.
Required Skills & Expertise
- 10+ years of experience with strong experience in CATV, IPTV, and broadcast systems engineering
- Expertise in video encoding/decoding, modulation, and multicast technologies
- Hands-on knowledge of broadcast-grade IP networks (Spine & Leaf architecture)
- Experience in large-scale event broadcasting (sports tournaments preferred)
- Strong understanding of terrestrial transmission and international broadcast connectivity
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
Experience
- Experience working on mega sporting events or large-scale live broadcasts
- Familiarity with IT Requirements Handbooks or similar compliance frameworks
- Exposure to high-availability and redundant broadcast system design
