Timothy L. Johnson Academy is seeking an energetic and dedicated Boys Lower Secondary Soccer Coach to lead our student-athletes during the fall soccer season. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young athletes, teaching the fundamentals of soccer, and helping students grow both on and off the field.
Position Summary
The Boys Middle School Soccer Coach is responsible for developing student-athletes through instruction, practice planning, competition preparation, and mentorship. The coach will foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive athletic experience while ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.
Schedule
- Practices: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–4:00 PM
- Games: Weekdays throughout the season
- Season Length: August through early October
Compensation
- $50 per session (practices and games)
- Estimated seasonal earnings: $1,500–$2,000+

Responsibilities
- Plan and lead practices focused on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Teach soccer fundamentals appropriate for middle school athletes.
- Prepare players for competition and support their athletic growth.
- Build a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities.
- Drive the school activity bus to and from away contests.
- Transport students home after practices when necessary using the activity bus.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and school staff.
- Ensure compliance with school and athletic department expectations.
- Promote student success both academically and athletically.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of soccer fundamentals, rules, and player development.
- Previous coaching or playing experience preferred.
- Experience working with youth or middle school students preferred.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and build positive relationships with student-athletes.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet school requirements for operating an activity bus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to pass required background checks and complete any required training.
