Duties
- Perform comprehensive bicycle repairs including brake repair, suspension servicing, mechanical diagnosis based on symptoms, and mechanical systems repair using hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance and assembly of new bikes, ensuring all mechanical systems are functioning optimally.
- Diagnose mechanical issues through symptom-based analysis and execute appropriate repairs or adjustments.
- Assist customers in selecting bikes and accessories by providing expert advice on cycling needs, product features, and maintenance tips.
- Manage retail sales transactions accurately, including retail math calculations for pricing and inventory control.
- Handle heavy lifting of bicycles and parts safely while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Educate customers on proper bike maintenance routines and safety procedures to enhance their cycling experience.
Experience
- Proven service technician experience with a strong background in bicycle or vehicle maintenance.
- Knowledge of suspension systems, brake repair, and mechanical assembly is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with symptom-based mechanical diagnosis and troubleshooting techniques.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical systems repair.
- Previous retail sales experience combined with excellent customer service skills in a cycling or sporting goods environment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in maintenance tasks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge paired with enthusiasm for cycling to connect authentically with customers and support their biking needs.
