Salary: MSU Band D (Steps 1-8): $28.501 – $41.449 per hour. $51,872 – $75,438 per annum (Based on 35 hours per week).

MacEwan University is seeking an Athletics Event Coordinator for a full-time, continuing opportunity with our Griffins Athletics department. Reporting to the Director, you will oversee 50-70 annual game day events and summer camp activities for Griffins Athletics, while ensuring strict adherence to policies and assignments with a focus on media or engagement coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and overseeing the implementation of programs, activities, and events within the Athletics Event Management Plan;
- Developing a marketing plan and strategy to encourage participation in varsity game day activities, youth camps, and community activities, including the planning and execution of promotional events and sponsor recognition;
- Coordinating the effective delivery of athletics events including setup/take down, logistics, staff training and coordination, registration, and scheduling;
- Managing ticket sales and tracking data such as demographics of game day attendance, and/or attendees at camps or other programming to help inform marketing and engagement tactics and strategies;
- Ensuring that all Griffins Athletics events meet the requirements of U SPORTS, Canada West, and MacEwan University policies and procedures;
- Maintaining inventory of equipment, supplies, outerwear, and promotional items as appropriate;
- Capturing event content and creating timely, engaging, and relevant posts for various social media platforms, per the Social Media plan and content calendar, while adhering to the visual and branding guidelines of MacEwan Athletics;
- Training the live stream production crew on all aspects of the live stream production;
- Creating and maintaining training manuals/program for broadcast equipment;
- Coordinating and overseeing the production and execution of various aspects of media-related elements such as live broadcasts, videos, and other multimedia content in accordance with broadcast requirements; and
- Building a plan for community engagement with relevant stakeholders to ensure the Griffins brand is present and recognizable in the Edmonton community.

Qualifications
- A minimum of a diploma in sports management, business, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience organizing, hosting, and coordinating the effective delivery of events (preferably athletic events).
- Experience with sport-specific stats programs and broadcast technology.
- Experience in a multi-faceted sport facility or university sport would be considered an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Position Requirements
- This position is on campus only.
- Required to work a work week including longer days, evenings and weekends, depending on the nature of the athletics event schedules. The nature and requirements of the event schedules may require this position to adapt their work schedule accordingly.
- The capability to lift and carry heavy objects such as tables, chairs, sports equipment/supplies, etc.
- Comfortability working in inclement weather and/or noisy environments.
- The successful incumbent will be required to obtain a Police Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check at their own cost.
