Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to join a busy Orthopedic Surgery Clinic. This outpatient role provides direct clinical support to orthopedic providers, including patient rooming, vital signs, medication review, injections, bracing, and durable medical equipment (DME) fitting. This is an excellent opportunity for athletic trainers with strong orthopedic clinical experience, and there is potential for permanent employment after the contract.

- Shift: Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Duration: 13 Weeks
- Start Date: August 3, 2026
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Athletic Trainer experience in a clinical or orthopedic setting.
- Current Board of Certification (BOC) Athletic Trainer (ATC) credential.
- Active North Carolina Athletic Trainer License (NCBATE) or eligible to obtain prior to start.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Experience with Epic electronic medical records.
- Strong orthopedic clinic experience, including:
- Patient rooming
- Recording vital signs
- Bracing and DME fitting
- Reviewing medications
- Administering injections
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not required for highly qualified candidates.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical support to orthopedic surgeons and healthcare providers.
- Prepare and room patients for clinic visits.
- Record vital signs and update patient medical histories.
- Review medications and assist with medication reconciliation.
- Administer injections as delegated and within scope of practice.
- Fit and educate patients on braces and durable medical equipment (DME).
- Document patient information accurately using Epic.
- Deliver high-quality patient care while maintaining professional communication with patients and the interdisciplinary team.
- Assist with clinic workflow to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Comply with all clinical, safety, and documentation standards throughout the assignment.
Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
Experience:
- Athletic Trainer in a clinical or orthopedic setting: 2 years (Required)
- Epic electronic medical records: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Active North Carolina Athletic Trainer License (NCBATE) (Required)
- Current BLS Certification (Preferred)
