Position Overview:

Prince of Peace Christian Preschool is seeking a passionate and dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our loving and nurturing team. The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for providing injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services to our athletes. You will work closely with our coaches, team physician, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the overall health and well-being of our athletes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of athletes’ injuries and conditions
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for injured athletes
  • Provide immediate first aid and emergency care as required during sporting events
  • Educate athletes on injury prevention techniques and proper conditioning exercises
  • Collaborate with our coaches, team physician – Dr Richard Rhodes, and other healthcare professionals to create comprehensive care plans
  • Administer therapeutic modalities and assist with rehabilitation exercises
  • Assisting in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of athletic sports medicine and safety policies, including the creation of a comprehensive procedures and guidelines handbook to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all student-athletes with our POPCS coaching and athletic administrative staff
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all athletes through TAPPS Management System and Rank One
  • Stay current with advancements in sports medicine and attend relevant conferences and workshops
  • Maintain confidential student records in compliance with FERPA and school policies
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration in support of the school’s mission

Confidentiality

The Athletic Trainer will have access to highly sensitive student/family information and medical records. Maintaining strict confidentiality of all information is essential to preserving trust and the integrity of the school’s efforts. Any breach of confidentiality or unauthorized disclosure of sensitive school information may result in immediate disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment, and may expose the employee to legal liability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or related field (master’s degree preferred)
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Athletic Trainer
  • CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Strong knowledge of sports injuries, injury prevention, and rehabilitation techniques

  • Clean, sanitize, and store equipment, materials and supplies daily or more as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
  • regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
  • frequently required to sit, frequently required to reach with hands and arms, frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Specific vision abilities include distance vision, and peripheral vision.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time

Schedule:

Full-time, June to May

This is a 12-month position following the Prince of Peace Christian School academic calendar. Onsite presence Monday through Friday is required. The Athletic Trainer must be available for work at sports events on and off campus, travel games, and summer camps during and outside normal operating hours to complete assigned tasks and projects; and must attend staff meetings, in-service training, open houses, and special events as requested by the Head of School.
